I have both this version and an older version of the Microsoft Surface Keyboard. The previous version was more problematic to connect (required a USB cable to set up Bluetooth), but used a rechargeable battery and an excellent fingerprint scanner (which was used to unlock the computer instead of a password). While I liked the old version, I despise the current "newer" version sold by Microsoft. It connects quickly via Bluetooth, but has a pretty annoying feature that can't be turned off. Energy saving mode/sleep mode. Basically, if you don't use the keyboard for more than 45-60 seconds, the keyboard will go to sleep. After you start typing, it can take up to 15+ seconds for the keyboard to wake up before it reconnects to your computer. I'd rather replace the batteries once a month and then wait 20-30 times a day for my keyboard to reconnect. Microsoft, please fix this issue.
