This monitor is about half as thin as the other ViewSonic monitors we currently use: ViewSonic VX2252MH 22" LED-Backlit LCD Monitor, Full HD 1080p, 2ms, 50M:1 DCR, Game Mode, HDMI/DVI /VGA, VESA . It doesn't have built-in speakers like the VX2252mh, so it doesn't need an HDMI input to support audio. The rest of the monitors are very similar. The VA2209 came with a VGA cable and an HDMI to DVI conversion cable. The adapter cable was just what we needed to add this monitor to our system as our computer's DVI port was already being used for the main VX2252mh monitor. I just plugged the HDMI converter cable into the HDMI port on our NVIDIA GeForce GT 720 video adapter and turned everything on. The system recognized the new display and made it immediately ready for use. The Windows 10 system settings allowed the monitor to be configured as an extended display and the quality was quite good with the original color setting. There are several ways to customize display settings for modern monitors, applications, and operating systems. There's a built-in menu for adjusting the contrast and brightness, adjusting the color, and adjusting the image manually. NVIDIA provides an application to make adjustments, and Windows 10 Settings provides another application to make adjustments. Showing true color is important because we take a lot of pictures and want the printed images to look like what they see on the screen. For us, the color and quality comparison on both displays was possible without any problems using a Datacolor Spyder4Elite S4EL100 colorimeter to calibrate the display. The round stand is very strong and stable and allows you to tilt the monitor back a few degrees. There is no height adjustment. It would have been nice if ViewSonic provided an AC connector that doesn't take up as much space on the splitter, but we managed to find space. Registering a new monitor was easy, but I couldn't find a PDF user manual on the ViewSonic website. I left an email for customer service and they emailed me the user manual within 24 hours. We are very pleased with the inclusion of this monitor in our system and enjoy the expanded display. The colors on the VX2252mh monitor are slightly lighter, but the difference is negligible. The image compares both monitors; Model VA2209 on the left. Navigating between documents and applications is much easier with two monitors.
