I've always loved the image quality of ViewSonic monitors and this one is no exception. I'm using a second screen on my 17 inch laptop to free up some desktop space. The monitor is very thin and the frame that surrounds the screen is also thin, making it compact for its screen size (22 inches). I've been using this monitor for a few weeks now and everything is fine. I've hooked it up to a docked Lenovo ThinkPad and haven't had any real issues to report so far. The unit I received had no dead/bright/stuck pixels which was a great start. It's a very thin panel, it doesn't weigh at all and the bezel is small and looks nice. The included stand sucks, like most in this price range - I'd recommend the VESA mount to give you more options for adjusting the height and angle. Internet streaming

This is the base monitor. The display is pretty good with image and video clarity, better than I expected from this budget monitor. The big disadvantage is the lack of setting options. No height adjustment and minimal tilt up or down. There is also no HDMI port. A connection with a DVI cable is still possible, but an HDMI connection would be a much better option. If you're not looking for frills, this will work.

There is nothing wrong with this monitor, but nothing amazing either. It seems a step above other budget 24-inch monitors. It's a no-frills 24-inch monitor, but it looks good, feels solid and comes with a three-year warranty. Be sure to compare Viewsonic VA2409 with Viewsonic VA2465smh as they are now the same price. I regularly use 5 monitors a day. I use a DVI to Thunderbolt cable as I work with high quality graphics. Viewsonic clarity and true color is all I could ask for. There were no dead pixels or distortion for a large monitor. I had it on other monitors. I used to buy monitors from Sony and Samsung. Their color and definition were excellent. I have been purchasing ViewSonic products for many years. The price is generally good, the screen quality is good - not great - but not great either. For the price it's fantastic. It's compact and stylish, looks great on the table. The only real complaint I have about it is that it doesn't have an HDMI input. Although it says in the specs. I have been using Dell PCs for many years (15-20) and have always bought Dell monitors with new PCs or kept the old one to reuse with the new PC. Works well and was very cheap. The heavy glass base is a plus as it keeps the monitor stable. In short, this is a good price and an adequate monitor for everyday home use.

For some reason it doesn't always come to life when the computer wakes up. This forces me to force restart my computer. We're working on changing the settings to stop this, but haven't fully resolved the issue yet. BUT the resolution of the computer is gloriously so clear.

Very surprised by the quality of this monitor. Nice crisp picture, great resolution and features I didn't expect from a monitor in this price range. I look forward to replacing monitors with this model!

1) I received my new monitor and the LCD is defective - there are a few large areas that are always lit. Order a replacement, we'll see what happens. 2) Well, here comes the second monitor - it's coming back too. The same problems - areas with constantly glowing lines. For another brand, hurry to your local retailer.
