Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Immerse in High-Definition Clarity with ViewSonic VA2209: 22-Inch LED-Lit Monitor, 1920X1080P Resolution, Wide Screen by Tyrone Brumfield

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Slightly better than most budget 24-inch monitors, but not surprising.

There is nothing wrong with this monitor, but nothing amazing either. It seems a step above other budget 24-inch monitors. It's a no-frills 24-inch monitor, but it looks good, feels solid and comes with a three-year warranty. Be sure to compare Viewsonic VA2409 with Viewsonic VA2465smh as they are now the same price. The VA2465smh has a better screen (IPS) and built-in speakers, but it feels more plastic and the stand looks cheaper. The VA2465smh also has VESA mounting holes which the VA2409 does not have. Being a graphic designer and color accuracy can be important, I would prefer the VA2465smh when imagining it. But the VA2409 definitely looks slimmer! I'm sure prices will fluctuate, so I suggest you compare them. If you just look at it, it's no different than other budget 24-inch LED screens. It has a good, even image for a TN panel. It's 1080p Full HD, but that's fine. There is nothing special about the stand. There are no cable channels but I don't think you need them. There are some aspects of this monitor that are better than similarly priced 24-inch monitors. It feels sturdier than many of the budget screens I've bought lately. Also, the stand is pretty firm and stable - I've bought several budget monitors recently... the screen wobbled if you blew on it too hard. I like the fact that the base is made of glass and metal. The three year warranty is great and the whole monitor is nice and thin! There is a white DVI connector and a blue VGA connector on the back of the monitor. The monitor itself does not have an HDMI port, but it does come with an HDMI to DVI cable so it will work with an HDMI port. It also comes with a VGA cable but not a DVI to DVI cable I say it is HDMI or VGA ready by default but if you have a DVI port you will need a DVI for that Cable. There are no speakers or audio outs, so the monitor doesn't support audio over HDMI. The only other connector is the power connector. Some monitors use a standard computer power cord, but in this case the AC adapter is used. The stand has no function other than tilt. The entire monitor can be tilted back and forth by up to almost 25 degrees. There is no up and down movement. You'll have to buy a more expensive monitor to get a stand with more features, since all budget monitors are tilt-only. The Dell Ultrasharp line almost all have great stands, but they're in a much higher price bracket. Overall nothing to worry about but it works well and works well. I installed this on my living room computer and it works great. I don't think we'll be calling our neighbors to show them our new monitor, but I'm sure it will serve us for many years to come! I really think this one is a step up in quality compared to many other 24 inch monitors under $150.
