I installed a trailer light harness on my CX5 but didn't have a trailer to try on at the time. I bought it to check if the connection is correct. When I checked my connection, all the lights on this tester came on properly. Unfortunately I ended up using a headlight harness on a truck a few weeks later. Well, the headlights didn't work properly. I thought it might be the carrier lights, but then tried them on a confirmed working trailer harness. Worked without any problems. This brought me back to installing the wiring harness on my CX5. To check what issues could be causing the light not to work properly, I searched YouTube and other sites on the internet. My first thought was the wrong foundation. After I fixed the ground position of the wire harness everything worked correctly. In general, DO NOT rely solely on this tester to confirm that your trailer lights are working.
