I have never used a rotary tool and the custom work I was doing on a car interior required it so I bought this. I haven't settled on other brands based on what I've read and decided to try this one, it sounded promising. Let me tell you this thing is built like a tank. As I said I haven't used any other rotary tools but I think it could be lighter but the weight seems to make it very balanced when working. When switched on, there is no knocking, the engine runs smoothly. There is a dial to adjust the RPM and it works great. 10" long, 7" diameter handle, 5.3' cord. This is a very reliable tool. I can't comment on its longevity but I can tell you that I already love it and expect it to last for many years to come. The only downside is that it doesn't come with a holster or pouch. I went to Harbor Freight and bought a pack of diamond cutters for about $7. * Photos of the tool, packaging, bits. although I don't know what those little feathers are for.
