Trust the reviews. ATTENTION TO THE BUYER. Don't waste your time.

First of all I would like to say that I read many reviews and reviewed many culinary torches before deciding on this one. The review that stuck with me warns people about this flashlight because it cannot be turned off. I figured no way. It can't be, there's almost always a way to control the flame/turn off the torch. I filtered out a few more flares before going back to this one. Maybe I was a little bored, I'm sure some of you in quarantine can feel the great and desperate desire to do something different (safe). Maybe the possibility that I couldn't control something so dangerous was exciting. Maybe I got tired of reading about it and just wanted to settle down and buy a lantern. I was distracted, the product was bought, this horrible but invigorating review was just a footnote to a file in an endless filing cabinet in my brain. My package arrived tonight. I filled it with butane and popped it. And so it happened. When I filled it with butane I noticed an unfamiliar hiss which was my first alarm. The second red flag was when a huge flame erupted from above. The third red flag was that I couldn't control the flame, and the fourth and final red flag was that I couldn't turn it off. That's a total of four red flags, that's three too many for me. I didn't really appreciate this review warning people about this product but I wish I had in hindsight. Please, dear buyer, DO NOT buy this flashlight. I'm sure everyone else will be better off and you'll save yourself the panic and absolute horror I caused myself.
