I've always struggled with binoculars and thought it would be great, especially with the ability to take multiple shots with my phone. It all works, but you put many pieces together to take a picture of a distant bird on your phone. Everything worked as expected, but honestly my expectations were reasonable. If you have space to set up a stable viewing platform and maybe a special tripod, and the birds aren't too active, you can capture some shots you might never otherwise see. And the price is still not bad if you never use the camera and only use it as a monocular.
