Review on 🌡️ BACOENG Pro 4 Way AC Diagnostic Manifold Gauge Set for R134A R410A R22 - Complete with 5FT Hose, Adapters, Couplers, and Universal Can Tap by Sam Simone

Might be better suited for A/C tools and equipment

Advantages:* 4-way design is very functional* Gauges are multi-refrigerant (22, 134a, 401a are all on gauges).* Good hose lengths* Good quality materials with the exception of o-rings and gaskets. Cons: * I did not receive the goods as shown in the photo. For example, the manifold I received does not have a refrigerant line purge valve. This means I have to bleed the refrigerant line by unscrewing the line from the manifold or by hooking up a vacuum pump and venting the air.* Self-sealing r134a bottles have been around for a long time. This set should include a tap that works with such self-sealing cans. Instead, it contains an old-fashioned lockable penetrating tap that's useless for newer cans. Given the lockable design of the included faucet, it will not work with faucet adapters to convert old self-sealing compatible faucets to new ones. I had to purchase the faucet separately for $10 which increased the initial cost of such a set. Although the zero point can be adjusted manually, it will override the calibration permanently if rotated more than half a turn. I was expecting better calibration and quality control for the high price this kit is sold for. -30 inches of mercury. This is an open system with both the low and high valves open, so the vacuum readings on properly calibrated gauges should be the same on both sides. Further proof that pressure gauges cannot be relied on for high accuracy and are only good for rough readings. * The hoses use plastic seals and easily detach during work with the slightest movement of the distributor. * Last but not least, the refrigerant charge valve knob just came out of the manifold along with the fitting and O-ring, which allowed air into the system during the charging process. Had to have coolant reclamation done professionally for $$, lost coolant due to the restoration and had to buy more to refill! Right now I have twice what I need to do the work in the store. I really want to keep this kit for its 4 piece design and multiple coolant specs, but I find the build quality and calibration completely unreliable. It also lacks a number of accessories that are essential for basic work. So expect to pay extra for it. All in all I feel cheated for the price it is sold for. As a good collector for beginners, it's probably worth $30 and then can spend a few dollars more to upgrade it to enthusiast/pro level. I'm a little disappointed and am seriously considering returning it! Other points: *This kit uses 1/4" fittings. Given the number of 5/16" and 1/2" fittings in the industry, I think they could use a few more of these 1/4" ones -5/16" and 1/2" adapters should be included, especially for their needs Price, but most kits have a similar range, so I'm not judging this kit for giving it at least one for its poor performance Wanted to give 3 stars but after the waste I had and the extra money I had to spend to get a faucet.. deduct another star.
