Review on πŸ§€ ZYLISS Dial & Slice Cheese Slicer: Effortlessly Perfect Slices Every Time! by Beth Wagner

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Absolute garbage good for cheese tools

This unit does not do what it is supposed to due to failures on several fronts. It's set very roughly, and the smallest setting still gives a fairly thick cut. The blade wheel wraps the cheese around itself when the slice is small enough or the cheese is soft enough and shreds the cheese into small pieces by contracting. Even long cuts are not possible because the wheel gets clogged with wrapped cheese. At high settings, it breaks cheese more than it cuts, meaning no matter what you get, you're getting ammo and not a clean cut. The adjustment mechanism is also very loose, meaning it tends to open as you use it unless you're using a very uncomfortable grip. The only thing it's good at is that it's easy to clean. All in all it's totally unfit for purpose and vastly inferior to the older Dial-a-Slice model, which while prone to breakage has at least gotten its job done so far.

Pros
  • Stainless steel lip ideal for making small or large portions of cheese
Cons
  • No automatic
