I have an ASUS X299-A motherboard. Putting two 970 evo plus drives in RAID 0 on this thing worked, but took a while to set up. You must change your boot options to allow booting from OPROM devices. You must also disable Secure Boot. When installing Windows, you must load the RAID drivers from another USB stick. Eventually, despite all this, my installation got stuck during the installation. I eventually figured out that I had to physically erase the existing drive that already had Windows 10 installed. I didn't want to erase it because it required disabling my GPU. But after I took it out, the installation went smoothly. it's very fast!
