Takes practice but is extremely effective and useful. Not the easiest to use, but 3 different controls are very useful. I use the pager feature to call the dog back, a nickname to encourage compliance and continued work in situations where the dog or other people are in danger. The speakerphone is great. Again, like everything in life, it takes time to train. My wife is having a hard time getting used to it. The receiver is regularly in salt water, and after that I rinse both the controller and the receiver. So far no problems. I've only been using it since February 2020. Our 75 lb dog has a very short coat and we had to buy some aftermarket contact points that spread the contact over 4 points which stopped his skin from tearing. I think we needed to up the ante with aftermarket points though. Our dog wears the collar about 7 hours a day and the device keeps a charge for at least 2 days, it charges very quickly, about 2 hours. I've never had a block die. Update 03/26/2021: Product works despite regular weekly exposure to salt water (then rinse with fresh water). Battery life seems shorter now but works all day (9 hours although dog is now obedient requires less stimulation, usually movement towards transmitter = compliance).
