Solid wood, solid steel, solid quality.

AvE on YouTube used this set and called it "skookums". I was looking for a screwdriver with a wooden handle. I have two old Stanleys that belonged to my grandfather. Now I have a set to pass on to my kids. They are very well done. The metal is well machined and finished. No rounded edges or burrs. The chrome surface is evenly machined and sandblasted. The metal tips are polished to a high gloss. Wood - a beautiful light beech, varnished. I will remove the varnish and replace it with linseed oil. Also, I'll probably use 80 grit sandpaper with a file to give it more grip. The shape resembles a faceted bottle. It is very comfortable to hold. The only thing I don't like about the pens, other than the varnish I'm familiar with, is the tool marks on the wood. It has horizontal grooves as if formed by a ball mill. I also have this ax handle. It's not scary and some people may not notice it. However, I will also smooth them out. There are a few things to note that make these screwdrivers even more special. The hexagonal magazine at the top of the shaft is very well made and prevents the key from slipping and the edges from rounding off. Second, the shaft goes all the way through the handle. Pretty in itself, the stem sits atop about 40k/1mm leather cap. This is barely noticeable, but leaves the metal touching when tapped with a hammer. Nice gesture. All in all a great set of screwdrivers. Highly recommended. I actually bought a set for my dad for Christmas.
