Amateur radio operators require this unit in order to work with the Ham Radio software. I bought two of these. One for Windows 7 and one for Windows 10. Both were extremely easy to install on both computers. The premium Windows 7 Home device is the Dell Inspiron 1750; the other is a Dell XPS Tower with Win 10 Pro. These devices use the highly reliable FTDI chipset and maintain their port assignments across reboots. I can confirm that these units work and work well with the "Ham Radio Deluxe" software.
