Unreliable Computers and Accessories

I recently bought two of these and they are unreliable to say the least. I plug one of the hubs into a PC running Windows Server 2012. The driver installs automatically and the new COM ports show up in Device Manager as expected. I restarted my computer just to be sure, then I started connecting my devices to the hub and that's when the frustrating experience started. The first problem is that there is no clear indication of how a port on a hub is mapped to a COM port in Device Manager. . I've…

Works well most of the time

Good reliable product, but on Win7 it periodically disconnects and reconnects using the following group of communication ports. This can be quite annoying when you are running applications that are listening on a specific communication port and it suddenly changes. Sometimes you can unplug it, wait a bit, plug it back in and it goes back to its original/correct communication ports. It doesn't work, you have to reboot. If it's not crazy, this works very well.

Highly reliable and stable USB to serial adapter.

Amateur radio operators require this unit in order to work with the Ham Radio software. I bought two of these. One for Windows 7 and one for Windows 10. Both were extremely easy to install on both computers. The premium Windows 7 Home device is the Dell Inspiron 1750; the other is a Dell XPS Tower with Win 10 Pro. These devices use the highly reliable FTDI chipset and maintain their port assignments across reboots. I can confirm that these units work and work well with the "Ham Radio Deluxe"…

Notable improvement over Keyspan for certain applications.

Used Tripp Lite Keyspan serial to USB adapter in my observatory. They're good, but not good enough for several major imaging devices. Not Keyspan's fault. I ran into a bug and decided I needed a more specialized way of customizing serial devices. It worked great! I run it remotely via an Icron (LAN) USB extender a few hundred yards from home. My hardware dictated that I should use a special "card" but working with a laptop made this impossible. So I got this and it solved all my connection…

Amazing Adapter Eliminator

This is the best! What a great device. I've struggled with different adapters for years and they always cause problems, especially when you add a new device. This box works great and replaces all those pesky adapters. I have a weather station, 2 ham radios and a communication device, they are all connected and can all be used at the same time. No problem with port numbers or anything like that. Also, eliminating the serial/USB adapters freed up the USB ports on my PC that used them. Also, all…
