This kit contains everything you need to build this beautiful Ferris wheel. Some of the smaller pieces are a bit more difficult to carve out of the wood panel and will need to use a razor, but sometimes the razor follows the grain of the wood and gets too narrow, I would suggest a small wood tool with a thin chisel tip instead. I also ended up using a small picture hammer to gently tap some of the pieces to get them into place. The instructions also say to put candle wax on all the gears which works great and I also ran the edges of each piece through after a quick brush with an extra fine sanding block to keep the edges from chipping which they will do but these Steps are unnecessary and require things you may not have on hand. Assembly went together easily but the picture instructions can be a little vague and some of the wooden pegs are cut at an angle and don't indicate which way to point. A young adult craftsman could easily assemble it and give them a sense of pride in the object for having made it themselves. All of these wooden puzzles are beautiful and come out exactly like the photo. If you want a more customized look, you can always paint the outside before assembly. Wooden parts are stronger and more durable than they appear.
