This automatic espresso machine originally attracted me because of its beautiful and pleasing appearance - an amazingly discreet, refined and simple black box. I'm happy to report that the taste of the espresso this machine makes is as delicious as the machine itself, and more importantly, it's quick and easy! This elegant black box has everything you need to prepare a smooth and enjoyable espresso. There is a bean hopper at the top that automatically grinds the beans after you choose the drink you want to make. Just behind the funnel is the water tank, which is completely removable, filterable and easy to clean. On the left side of the machine there is a side panel that allows access to the brewing unit inside the machine. All parts of this machine and how to access them for cleaning or maintenance purposes are clearly identified and detailed in the manual. This machine is quite unique in that it allows so much access to the various components within. This makes it a safer, healthier and ultimately more hygienic espresso machine than 99% of the machines on the market. To further facilitate the care and maintenance of the machine, there are three descaling bags and a bristle brush. And if required, a water hardness stick is also included. Operating the machine is incredibly easy, thanks to a cleverly hidden touch control surface, located at the top front of the machine, which only lights up when the machine is on. The interface is simple and easy to use, even for people who are not entirely tech savvy. The machine offers a selection of the following drinks: espresso, americano, lungo and hot water. Just touch one of the available options and the machine will automatically start grinding beans, heating water and dispensing the selected beverage without any action on your part. After about 30 seconds you'll be enjoying an Americano, after 60 seconds - and that's a double shot - simply press espresso once your americano is brewed to prepare a second shot of espresso. It's very easy! Lungo's choice uses more water compared to the more intensive extraction process designed to maximize caffeine extraction. Drinks are served ready to drink at the perfect temperature. I'm not the type to have my kitchen appliances spy on me by giving them WiFi access, so I can't comment on the app or its functionality. I use this car the "old-fashioned way" - I walk up and press the button with my finger. It only takes a minute, so I don't see the need to plan something quick and easy. The machine is heavy but retains a nice box shape that's incredibly easy to place on the kitchen counter. Doesn't look bad, looks aren't distracting. Its refreshingly simple design sets it apart from most kitchen appliances these days. This simplicity doesn't sacrifice functionality - operating the machine is incredibly intuitive and doesn't require reading the manual - the epitome of ease of use. What does it all mean? With a starting price of just under 700 euros, the GE Profile fully automatic espresso machine is by no means cheap. But it manages to excel in key areas where the competition falls short: it makes great-tasting espresso, it's fast, it's easy, it's extremely affordable for regular maintenance and cleaning, and it looks great on the kitchen counter. I am very impressed and very happy with what this machine has to offer. So yes, it's expensive, but worth it!
