Too many discrepancies. false descriptions; Read before buying

The french press coffee maker itself isn't bad, but it's not what I wanted to buy. I chose this particular press because I wanted stainless steel and I thought it looked really good. I liked the color and the style. It looked just as nice out of the box as it did in the description. It also makes good coffee. Now for what I didn't expect and don't like. The seller of this item's two answers to the two questions in the Questions and Answers section are incorrect. First, unlike any other French press I've had, NO, the glass carafe cannot be removed from the base. Even if you remove or loosen the screw in the handle, the glass seems firmly in place. Of course he supports it, but the glass carafe is stuck. I tried pushing the decanter through a couple of times, then finally took a closer look. The glue is visible from the inside of the carafe and from the outside by looking at the small gap between the carafe and the base. Secondly, NO, this item cannot be washed in the dishwasher. After trying unsuccessfully to remove the carafe from the base to place the carafe in the dishwasher, I put the entire unit in the dishwasher because the seller's response showed it was safe. Nothing broke, but the paint on the base has peeled off in places, there were white spots in places. The lid was not damaged. I tried wiping the white spots hoping it was just debris but they are permanent and now it looks like the base is covered in mold or fungus. It's not that nice anymore. I have already questioned the accuracy of the item's description, which states that "the base, lid and handle are made of 304 food grade stainless steel". The handle is definitely plastic! I tried the magnet test for the remaining parts. The magnet was not attracted to the base, fittings or cap, only the long part of the flask. As I write this I decided to take a look at the packaging it came in. It says "stainless steel internal hardware," "copper-plated lid and frame," and "dishwasher-safe glass." Dishwasher safe glass doesn't matter if the glass can't be separated from the base! I would have given the item 2 stars myself but had to withdraw one due to inaccuracies. I contacted the seller about the problems. It took the seller several emails back and forth to understand my concerns. possibly due to the language barrier. If you are purchasing this and need to contact the seller, keep it short and direct. The seller sent a replacement which I asked for instead of a refund because I threw away the first box. The seller seemed friendly. New French press came in 2 days, hand wash. So far it has tolerated daily hand washing. If you're ok with hand washing, a NON-stainless steel press, and the inability to separate the carafe from the base, you should be fine with this. I would probably not buy from this seller again as the item is basically NOT as described. I hope the wrong info wasn't meant to be a scam to get a few sales but really a lot of inconsistencies so it's just a mistake. If anything changes I will update my review.
