Review on Ultimate Protection and Comfort: BELL Stratus MIPS Adult Road Bike Helmet by Adam Gambel

This is the best engineer helmet I have ever had. First, it's MIPS technology that received high marks in Consumer Reports and Virginia Tech reviews. The fit is excellent, particularly the adjustment of the chin strap for around-the-ear comfort. The ventilation is also very good. But the best feature is subtle and overlooked in the reviews. There are two cutouts on the front edge of the helmet where the two ventilation openings end. They're fairly small, but give you the ability to see "through" the helmet rim when your head is tilted down, so you don't have to tilt your head up. You can see the road ahead just by looking up with your eyes. Pretty smooth. I really appreciated it when I had to replace my Bell Stratus and switch to another brand that offered a new non-MIPS protection system. It had no eyes and after the first ride my neck hurt from tilting my head back. Also, it wasn't as comfortable and well ventilated as the Bell. I immediately gave up and bought another Bell Stratus. The Bell Stratus is more expensive than the others, but in my opinion it's an excellent roadie product and well worth the money.
