Review on ☕ Solofill SOLOGRIND Single Serve Coffee Pod Burr Grinder, 2-in-1 Automatic, Black Finish, 1 EA by Charity Holloway

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Coarse only, blended, durable

I love the easy filling of the reusable K-Cup because I can choose my coffee and the pods stay residue-free. My first Sologrind was purchased from Revain in 2014 and worked very well. The "finest" grind setting was pretty coarse, but I wanted a coarser grind, so it was ok. If you really need a finer or less coarse grind, this isn't for you. On the lowest fill setting, it completely filled my Solofill K cup. Since I wasn't trying to make the cup smaller, this worked for me. When this Solofill died in February 2019, I bought another one on sale at Wayfair. He had similar grinding and filling problems but only lasted 17 months before he died. I bought my third one from Revain in August 2020 and it's still working. The finest grind setting is still fairly coarse, and the minimum fill setting now overruns my K-cup by at least a full teaspoon, meaning I spilled coffee grounds over the counter the first time. Now I know I have to stand there, count to eight, and hit the STOP button so I don't overflow. To be honest I don't know why they have even higher settings, although I believe some people grind quite a lot of grains at once. But since I need to count anyway, setting "Fill" together with "Sand" setting seems pointless as both don't work. Why am I still using it? Because he works reasonable for my minimum needs and I have the time and desire to babysit him. If I didn't want a coarse grind and didn't have time to stand and count every time I fill a K cup, I definitely wouldn't bother. I always think there will be something more reliable. . .
