I recently decided to save up for my first major purchase of Rode NTG3 sound gear. Received it and hooked it up, I wasn't impressed, not even disappointed. But all the reviews I read, the fact that this was my first time using a pistol mic and knowing it was a $700 mic made me feel like I was doing something wrong. Well I checked something on the website. when they pasted this ad above. From the Rode website"Important information for buying from Revain in the US. RØDE microphones are not authorized by Fulfilled By Revain. We have purchased counterfeit RØDE products through Fulfilled by Revain and strongly recommend that you purchase RØDE products only to buy from authorized dealers. If you buy a RØDE microphone from an unauthorized dealer through Fulfillment By Revain you will not receive any warranty or technical support in the days since my purchase. They were pleased about it but still wary of the Fact that I may have spent so much money on a fake I received my mic today (ordered from B&H) and the change was noticeable At a much lower input level on my Zoom H4N the hiss was much less and sounded fuller. I definitely had the wrong mic Revane did the right thing to me but still feel like it I must warn!
