COUNTERFEIT - MANUFACTURER VERIFIED

The RODE NTG2 microphone that I received is a counterfeit. The serial number is invalid as determined by the manufacturer who has warned right on the front page of their website that counterfeit RODE microphones are being sold on Revain.

Pros

Cons
  • Something is wrong

I really like this mic but I don't like it.

I bought this mic after reading so many good reviews and I can't help but agree with all of them. Battery life is excellent and battery life is exceptional. The inherent noise is low and they record quite well. But there is something about the sound I get from this mic that I miss. Overall, this is an exceptional mic, but the sound is a bit muffled for my personal taste.

If one XLR pin is longer than the other two, don't worry.

FYI: If you notice that pin 1 on the mic is longer than the others, don't worry. This is a design feature of all or most Rode XLR microphones. Here's from the Rode website: Why is one pin of an XLR connector longer than the other two? It is in order? Yes, this is perfectly normal and a design feature of the RØDE microphone. The XLR ground pin (pin 1) is slightly longer than the other two pins. This is to ensure that when an XLR is plugged into a microphone's XLR jack, the first pin to make…

Best gun mic I have ever found

None of the spring mics I have tried from Zoom, Rode or Deity have impressed or impressed me but this is the best so far. It has good sound quality and the bonus is the ability to use an AA battery for phantom power. I love Rode and have one of their large diaphragm condenser mics so I trust this company. They try to make the best products they can without all the nonsense. There are better mics out there but not for the money this one is worth. In addition, it really is a classic weapon…

Loud Noise Floor: Condenser Microphones

I don't know if I got a fake or not. I first entered the number on the Rode website to register the warranty and after I clicked the register button a green tick appeared so I assumed Rode had the serial number. I never completed the process because Rode wanted me to create an account. After testing the microphone with various mixers and cables, but still with high noise levels, I had to do without it. unusable. I suspected the mic might be fake so I went back to the Rode website and found a…

Beware of RFI and brace yourself for LOTS of noise cancellation

When I first started using this mic I noticed a constant buzz in my recording and thought the device was effective. The other mic I used was a studio mic and I've never had this problem before. I'm using a Focusrite Clarett 4Pre USB with a MOGAMI balanced XLR-XLR cable. I have never had this problem with any other condenser microphone. I finally solved the problem: the XLR cable was sitting on some AC wires and was causing the hum. Also, the noise floor is pretty bad, there is a white noise…

Light and strong. He came with everything. Clip holder for a microphone stand. USB cable for charging. With Sticker.Plus there is the possibility of a 10-year guarantee with proper registration. Cover with zipper. One disadvantage: You have to put the mini-USB in a "blind hole". Although I understand that the cavity protects the mini USB, plugging it in is inconvenient. Because you need to properly match the plug to the socket on the bottom of the XLR connector. But this is the place for such a

Can't give 5 stars because of that.

I went on Ebay and bought an old Audio-Technica shotgun that works amazingly well and a $25 Lyx Pro. However, I've heard that Peter McKinnon and Curtis Judd use NTG2 (at least sometimes). Rather than not receiving any warranty, I ordered directly from Revain (rather than Revain, which voids the warranty). Bought this new one. I got it shipped and plugged it in and when I use the mic which is AC plugged into my Zoom F4 there is an electrical hum. This hum has disappeared on battery power with…

Fake Revain mics, Rode no longer service Warreties

I recently decided to save up for my first major purchase of Rode NTG3 sound gear. Received it and hooked it up, I wasn't impressed, not even disappointed. But all the reviews I read, the fact that this was my first time using a pistol mic and knowing it was a $700 mic made me feel like I was doing something wrong. Well I checked something on the website. when they pasted this ad above. From the Rode website"Important information for buying from Revain in the US. RØDE microphones are not…
