Sometimes the thought of preparing my workspace and everything I need to paint keeps me from painting. This set is great if you have the same problem! After the initial setup, removing seals and rearranging the colors in the order you want, you're good to go! These colors are light and dry, with a nice chalky tint like other gouaches, although some colors are more opaque than others (see illustration for samples on white and black paper). Colors that are not as opaque will become opaque as they dry when the next coat is applied. They are smooth, creamy and highly pigmented. The only downside I noticed about this travel set is that it's quite heavy due to the amount of paint in the set, so it's probably not something you want to take with you all the time to paint on the go. Otherwise a great set for the price and I would definitely recommend it to budding gouache artists who just want to learn this stuff. I don't know how fast open paints can dry and what happens after that, but so far they're excellent.
