Review on Four Seasons Trumark 35590 Without by Lance Foster

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Everything is fine, just an ordinary Chinese engine.

This is the third boat I've been on but they were all on my boat and it's not the friendliest environment. The first one lasted 5 or 6 years but then I let water get into the motor so I feel bad. The second worked for 2 years, then oil began to flow and stopped. So now it's number 3. By the way, the motor is from Unimotor. The original in the Heatercraft block was a Unimotor, as was the second, although I don't recall which brand I actually ordered. This one was branded 4 Seasons but still Unimotor in the box. Keep in mind that no matter what brand you order, you will likely end up with a Unimotor. Incidentally, Heatercraft and other vendors will not sell the engine themselves. They will tell you to buy the entire fan case for $150 (or more). Unimotor only sells through distributors. As a former parts salesman, I knew I could find an engine somewhere. Luckily this motor is common on older Fords and $40 is a lot better than $150 so I won't complain if I have to replace it every few years.

Pros
  • Meets or exceeds OE design and specifications.
Cons
  • So So
