Very noisy due to hard tip

I just installed a new doorstop in my bathroom and immediately noticed that the door makes a lot of noise when it hits the wall. A further check showed that the manufacturer saved a penny and used plastic that was not suitable for the task. Instead of using an elastomeric material to absorb shock, they installed a hard cap, which immediately makes a loud noise and is likely to break soon (based on experience with hard plastic with regular impact).
