THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH! THANK YOU. this seller! I am making zip up cargo pants for my husband and had to shorten some of the zips for the pockets. I had absolutely no idea how to shorten metal zippers, but I watched a few tutorials on YouTube and tried to give it a try. In each of the videos, you are advised to tear off the existing top metal stops with pliers, somehow pry open those stops, and clip them back over the zipper teeth. If you try this you will find that it is absolutely ridiculous, time consuming and useless. The shackles are popping out everywhere, flying around the room, it's like looking for a microscopic needle in a haystack, and it's almost impossible to undo (that's why they always skip that part when they shoot their YouTube videos ). This method causes more headaches than it's worth. I came across this product while searching for Revain. My zippers are brass, but the color I ordered was antique brass (marked "anti-brass"). I couldn't be happier. Although the back of my zip says 4.5, these #5 zip stoppers worked perfectly. After using needle nose pliers to pry off the required number of prongs to shorten the zipper, I simply used pliers to hold these stops in place. They work like magic. I was concerned that the antique brass color would not go well with the shiny brass teeth of my zipper, but the zipper stops look great. When the zipper is fully closed you cannot see the stops at all. These #5s fit snugly in my #4.5 zipper. This lifetime supply of Zipper Stoppers is an exceptional bargain! I am very happy with my order. I highly recommend this product. This is one of my best Revain purchases of all time.
