If I could give this product zero stars, I would. The pads do not absorb dirty water. So you float the dirt and smear it all around you. I still have some of the original pads when I bought the Shark Mop and after a few minutes of steaming the original pads get dirty and wet. These new pads had almost no dirt and were barely damp from the steam. I steamed half of my white tiled kitchen floor with the original (but clean) underlay and the tile came out white. Then I steamed the other half with a new gasket and the tile looked dirty. I used a clean paper towel to wipe the moisture off the side cleaned with these pads and after that the tile was clean but the paper towel was dirty. So basically it will remove the streaks or dog paw marks, but only because it's smearing the dirt around and it's not that obvious. I use a steam cleaner because I want it to be clean and I want the dirt to actually be removed and not spread evenly all over the floor.
