I did not purchase this from Revain. However, I bought it direct from DJI's website, so I had it days before Revains delayed the product launch. I have never owned a DJI OM or any other cell phone gimbal to compare. I don't create content but bought it to take to family reunions, family weddings, vacations, etc. My wife and I use this gimbal with the Galaxy S21 so our experience might be a bit different than iPhone users like me read on. In previous OM3/OM4 reviews, there are some differences between Android/iPhone apps and overall usability. If you have an Android phone and want to get the most out of this product, you may first need to download the DJI Mimo app directly from DJI at https://www.dji.com/downloads/djiapp/dji-. mimo . I originally downloaded the Mimo app from the Google Play Store and as of 9/17/21 it is NOT the 1.6 version required for Android 11/12 compatibility. When I downloaded the app from Google Play, the Mimo app did NOT find the OM5 via Bluetooth no matter what I did. Sideloading the 1.6 app from the Mimo webpage solved this problem. First, let me say that as an Android user, you can do a lot without installing the Mimo app. Before downloading the app, I was able to find the gimbal via bluetooth through my phone and sync the phone to the gimbal. I read in previous OM stabilizers that you had to first use the Mimo app to level the phone before going to the phone's OEM camera. That's not the case with the OM5 because as soon as you place your phone in the gimbal and turn it on, it balances itself without relying on the Mimo app. I was able to use the Samsung camera app with no gimbal stabilization issues. APP-FREE - Only phones with built-in Bluetooth allow you to use the red capture button to snap/capture photos, switch between landscape/word orientation, switch between selfies/rear cameras, and change the direction of the phone in multiple axes using the built-in joystick. The zoom in/out button will NOT work without the Mimo app. Without the Mimo app, the trigger can only be used to reset/refocus when triggered. In the box you will find a hanger, a nice carrying case made of a microfiber-like material, a USB charging cable. -a to usb-c, magnetic phone clip (no backlight), tripod and study materials. I bought the gray version of the product (also available in white). The gimbal is lightweight and looks like a quality product. The magnetic phone clip fits our phones snugly on our cases. It's not obtrusive, but big enough that we wouldn't leave it on our phones unless we were at an event/place to use it. It's nice to have an extra long selfie stick as well as a tripod. The phone's stabilizer does a good job of stabilizing video footage. It's quiet in its settings. I was able to play with the stabilizer for a couple of hours without having to charge it. The color gray is a medium dark gray with a dark gray textured touch. It looks and feels like a premium product. The harness is not too heavy and folds compact enough for a fanny pack/purse/backpack. It could fit in large bags but probably wouldn't be the usual preferred storage. I was pleasantly surprised by the compact size of the product. All functions work in the Mimo app on my Galaxy S21. I'm limited to 4K30FPS rear camera and 1080p30FPS front camera. My native Samsung camera can run a 4K60FPS rear camera and a 4K60FPS front camera. Hyperlapse, Timelapse is ok as my built in phone app has those features too. Active tracking seems to be the best feature in the app. It tracks the custom object well. When currently tracking a moving subject I use the Mimo app, but if I just need stabilization I can move my Samsung app to the 4K60FPS option. The app includes several tutorials on creating custom grips. I see this as useful for those trying to be more creative or trendier. As for me, I just want stabilized home video, I never see myself being able to use these specialized guides/modes. I like the tripod and the retractable selfie stick. At the moment the general impressions are the Gimbal 5/5, the Android Mimo 3.5/5 application. This is a product I won't carry with me every day, but knowing I can record some sort of video, it's small enough to take with me knowing the video won't be as shaky as if I were using the phone keep. The stabilizer works well and I like that it can be used without having to install the Mimo app. Android users, YMMV, depending on the version of your phone and Mimo app. 1.6 seems to work well with the Galaxy S21. This product is currently priced at a high $150. This stabilizer seems to be aimed at young and trendy content creators, but it will produce a well stabilized video. It may be worth buying if you think better stabilized video or some features of Mimo app are worth a one-time purchase. I'll keep it to myself and see if it's worth the money.
