Review on Gabriel 81516 Heavy Shock Absorber by Christopher Ruth

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They worked fine on my 1997 Chevrolet S10 Blazer 4WD

This is a great and affordable solution to the rough ride I've had with my Blazer. I was originally looking for Monroes but they were out of stock at the time and with the unseasonably warm weather I didn't have time to wait. My dad gave him a really ugly face because he's very stuck and piecemeal in his own way and just doesn't like new things. My husband found them easy to install (a nightmare to remove the originals after 20 years.) And it didn't become one of our nightmares at home all day/week. We put in shock absorbers and they really improved the overall handling, and the same bumps in my gravel driveway no longer break the ground. It was an improvement I didn't even know I needed until they actually installed it. I think some of the tire wear I had was some kind of cupped wear due to wear on the shock absorbers. We rebuilt and flattened the front, bought fresh new tires, but somehow we managed to ignore the shock absorbers in all the things (mainly maintenance) we did until I was 13. I would highly recommend them and would not hesitate to purchase Gabriel shock absorbers in the future.

Pros
  • . Shocks, Struts & Suspension
Cons
  • Don't really like it, it's ok
