I have been knitting for about a year now and consider myself an "intermediate". I started knitting hats on circular needles. I'm already starting out with a small collection of pins, but I didn't have the right size for a new hat pattern I wanted to try. Having 7 sets of round guns from different manufacturers, ranging from economy class to middle and high-end, I have come to the conclusion that the quality that makes a set of round tools comfortable to use. So far these are my favourites. Stainless steel needles are smooth and well balanced. The yarn glides wonderfully over these needles. The tips are just right not too sharp and not too blunt, and I've found that I haven't snapped the yarn at all with these needles. A slight bend between the needle and cable eliminates the awkward transition from stiff needle to cable. The connection between needle and cable is very smooth and secure. The cable itself is a dream to work with. It's very flexible and "low memory" so you don't have that pesky stiff spool, which seems to be a problem I've noticed with plastic cords that make starting a project less enjoyable. If I had to list one downside to these brochures, it would be the laser engraved size on the needle. I like that the size is marked on the needle but as I am past middle age my eyesight is not that good anymore, like she used to be. I find that the laser engraving is so thin that it is very difficult for me to read. This does not prevent me in any way and in no way reduces my enjoyment of these instruments. These booklets are packaged in a fairly sturdy plastic bag with a zipper that says the size and that's enough for me. I will definitely be purchasing other sizes of these brochures and highly recommend them.
