Latest Update:The company finally responded, and sent the replacement filter I had requested but not received. I wish it hadn't taken so much work, but am glad that they finally stepped up and resolved the problem.Update: I have contacted the company 3 times to request the promised "free replacement filter" offered when I purchased the unit. So far, I've received no response. Called their phone number today. No answer, but got a Google Voice voicemail prompt. I left another message. I noticed on this page that they advertised a 1 year warranty, but if you look at the images on the left, it shows a "24 month warranty." You might want to verify the warranty, if it concerns you.Original review:I'm comparing this filter to a similar model I've owned for years, with the standard white plastic housing. This one seems reasonably well-made, with two minor concerns. First, the base is a bit flimsy, and it wobbles just a little. That won't affect its functionality. Second (and I should have noticed this from the pictures), this unit does not let the outlet pipe swivel, as most models do. Depending on where you use it, this might be an annoyance. The pipe does twist side-to-side, but you cannot swivel the angle from the bottom. I haven't hooked it up and tried it yet, so I don't know whether it will be an issue or not. I had asked, before purchasing, if this model could use a standard sized replacement filter, if I wanted to upgrade to a stronger filtration rate one, but no one answered that question for me, so I'll have to investigate that myself. I would say, if you can get a unit that offers the swivel pipe for the same price, you might be happier. Otherwise, it seems okay for the price point. Will update the review after testing it, if possible.
