As an engineer, who would have thought that I would like this extremely simple alarm clock - Brightness: Of course it gets bright enough, but what really matters to me is that it's dark. This block dims very linearly from really zero to bright, so I can only turn it on a little and then when I look at it at night it's completely comfortable to look at. - Alarm clock. I only use my bedside alarm clock when I need a backup for my phone (like for an early flight that I'm paranoid about missing). It has a very basic alarm function, but it's easy to see the time you've set (or confirm it's off) with the dedicated text in the bottom left corner. Every other device I've owned over the years tries to do too many things. , and fails at the above two functions, which are really fundamental. Oh, and it has no spy/microphone/internet connection etc. ;)
