I ordered this filter because I didn't want to pay too much for original filters. It was half the price and matched my KitchenAid fridge perfectly. The water quality is good. But although the product advertises that it should be changed every 6 months, in my experience it really needs to be changed after 3 months. I installed on March 31st and by the end of May (2 months) the water flow had slowed down significantly. At the end of June (3 months) it became so slow that it had to be replaced. When I went through the spec sheet and FAQ included in the box, it actually says the filter needs to be replaced every 6 months "or 300 gallons". Still recommend this filter but note that a 6 month lifespan is not accurate.
