Review on 🌬️ Monitoring Indoor Air Quality with the Stellate Detector: Ensuring a Healthy Environment by Alvaro Delic

Wildly sloppy and defective battery and not the stated capacity.

Firstly, I didn't realize that all the temperature readings were in Celsius and no way to convert them to Fahrenheit. I doubted the temperature was as low as advertised (15Β°C) so I decided to take 3 more readings. Two of them returned with a temperature of 20Β°C and one showed a temperature of 21Β°C with a laser on a nearby piece of brass. Second, the humidity, two different devices show 47% relative humidity and this device shows 35%. Last article, battery. : 3000 mAh battery is advertised. Well, the label on the battery says: 2000 mAh. No further comments are needed here. I suspect that the battery that came with it is defective. I have a 2 amp USB power supply that I use to power the device. I also have a USB analyzer in between. The display is constantly charging and never stops. When I disconnected the device from the power supply after 24 hours, the battery indicator only shows one bar. Proof that it wasn't loaded. Also, the USB analyzer shows that the device only draws 0.28A, which I believe matches the power consumption of the device itself. When I first plugged in the device after receiving it, it consumed 0.6A for about an hour. I think the battery just died. It would be an easy swap, but that shouldn't happen on a brand new device. Also, the battery isn't a standard (AA or AAA) battery, it's an AL 18650. You can find a new one at Revain for a few dollars each. It's also evident that it beeps when the reading falls into a bad range. Except that there is no way to turn this off and it beeps every time the value changes. Absolutely nothing I can have in my office. As a result, I'm tempted to return the entire device as I don't trust it.

Cons
