I bought this to replace a similar one that someone accidentally threw away. The wooden handle is strong and the blade is at the perfect angle for slicing cheese. Just a word of warning: it's VERY spicy! It glides effortlessly across the five different cheeses we've used it on, but it also cut the hand or finger of anyone who used it for the first time. Believe him, it's a knife blade and not your typical brittle slice of cheese and you'll love it. We've used it on Cheddar, Gouda, Swiss, Mozzarella and Monterey Jack with great results.
