Review on πŸ’ͺ Enhanced Performance Front Brake Kit: Power Stop K2429 Z23 Carbon Fiber Brake Pads with Drilled & Slotted Brake Rotors by Shane Minter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product for the price

I chose this pads and rotors combo package because it was reasonably priced and not much more expensive than other standard kits. My order came with pad guides for the caliper bracket so there is no need to purchase them separately (I just returned the pad guide kit I bought. Gotta love Revain :) This product did NOT come with pad springs but I did don't think they should have As I can't see them the holes in the top of the pads are pre-drilled. Installation on my 2006 Honda Ridgeline was easy and the break-in process outlined in the included instructions was very quick and easy. 5 or 6 aggressive stops from 45mph and 2 or 3 more from 25mph, with a nice coat of resin on the rotors. Just fuck. Time will tell how long these things actually last on the road, but so far so good. I have read some reviews on this product that questioned the quality of the rotor, but I don't see how these rotors differ from others. . There is absolutely NO pulsing when I stop, no matter how aggressively I do it. I suspect some other reviewers ignored the burn-in process and applied an uneven layer of resin to their rotors, which usually causes brake pulsation. Never underestimate the importance of this burn-in process, especially for your front brake. If you're unfamiliar with the benefits, the process, or the risks of NOT doing this, google it or watch a few quick YouTube videos. My five cents. Finally, I feel that my braking performance has greatly improved since switching to this brake kit. Very happy with my purchase. All in all a great set of disc brakes for the price. Certainly better than paying the store $500 or more for a set of Jane's plain pads and rotors.
