I tested the vacuum on my car distributor without any problems. With this pump you can easily adjust your progress to the vacuum in the carburetor. The pointer was against the minimum stop, so I can only assume that the counter is calibrated. However, the vacuum levels I observed were about what I expected, so I don't think the calibration will be too far off. There is an unmentioned vacuum reset button on the underside of the gauge that easily returns you to a zero vacuum reading. I didn't use the brake bleeder.
