We have a 5-month old border collie who, from the day we got her, would eat her meal in no more than 5 seconds if we put it in a normal bowl. No chewing; just inhaling her food as fast as possible. So for the first couple months we had to feed her using a food dispensing bobble toy. This worked, but it was a pain to fill, it was noisy, and it left food crumbs all over the floor. Finally we decided to look for a slow feed bowl and came across this one.This bowl solved our problem! We poured in just under a cup of food (it could probably hold twice that amount), set it down, and it took her a total of 6 minutes from start to finish to eat her meal. The bowl stayed in place pretty well, although near the end of the meal she started pushing the bowl around a little trying to get to the last couple pieces. In total it probably moved 1-2 feet from its original spot. Now that she's fed from it regularly, she rarely pushes the bowl around and it still takes her 4-6 minutes to eat a meal.The bowl itself is a good size for most dogs, it's made of a sturdy material, and even the design and color are attractive. Overall, we are extremely happy with our purchase. It's a great price and is worth it! We'd definitely recommend it for other speed eaters.
