Review on Sierra 18-7919 Fuel Filters as a Mercury 35-809097 and Yamaha MAR-24563-00-00/Racor S3213 Replacement by Justin Steele

Harmful/defective/garbage! As others have written, the fuel tank I was planning to reuse from an old Sierra filter (same model number) either accidentally or when it was almost full ruptured on this new filter and spilled about 2 cups of gas. There's nothing wrong with an old clear shell sealed well on an old filter. During installation, the shell fell off 3 times. Thank god I found out about it before I even got on the boat. At best you'll have to deal with it on the water, at worst the boat will burn and sink. Plastic thread for a gas tank - really? Class action lawsuit pending, IMO. AVOID!
