Not suitable as a replacement for s3213.

Bought to replace Racor S3213. The description says this is a Sierra replacement for Racor. Looks good, fits good, pump up the primer ball and the cup pops out and the fuel squirts and spills everywhere. A very dangerous situation. The plastic thread on the bottom of the separator bowl is damaged.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not fashionable

Fuel water separator filter

I have used this product on my bass boat for many years. I use non-ethanol fuel, but there's always a chance of contaminants and water getting into the tanks I'm pumping fuel from. This filter has a bowl that attaches to the bottom of the filter and can be emptied from time to time. Water and debris have accumulated in this area and draining allows you to remove them without removing too much fuel. When I was servicing the outboard I was told that the carburetors looked like the filter was not…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Low repairability

Fire hazard! for fuel filter

Harmful/defective/garbage! As others have written, the fuel tank I was planning to reuse from an old Sierra filter (same model number) either accidentally or when it was almost full ruptured on this new filter and spilled about 2 cups of gas. There's nothing wrong with an old clear shell sealed well on an old filter. During installation, the shell fell off 3 times. Thank god I found out about it before I even got on the boat. At best you'll have to deal with it on the water, at worst the boat…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Difficult to say

The problem is in your bowl, not the filter

So this filter has had a very negative impact on my boating season this year. I hope my engine will not be damaged. When the boat was pulled out at the end of the season the bowl came loose which was my first clue that the problem was with the filter and not something else. A lot of negative feedback about the filter. Negative ratings for similar, however found some interesting comments in this filter with different streams for Racor. Found a new 2006 filter in the back of the parts box…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Vulgarity
