Well done - looks like it will hold up. I am not an electrician and am afraid of electricity. This thing came without a single word of instruction. It's a simple device, I know, but I have no experience. I first bared the two wires on my lamp cord about an inch and routed the two wires where they could go, but it didn't work. Then I checked the instructions on YouTube and found that: one wire only goes through the switch, no stripping; The other wire is stripped and cut, and both ends are wrapped around two (very small) screws on one side of the switch in the direction the screw is tightened. (to prevent your wire from unwinding when tightening the screws). It is very difficult to work with these tiny screws! At first I was concerned about the hot wire and ground mentioned in the videos, but my cable only had two identical wires, both black, so I finally decided to treat them as equals. I cut one and pierced the other. The through wire was already stripped so I wrapped it in duct tape before feeding it through. IT WORKS OUT! The instructions would have helped, but I did. The switch works very well and doesn't look cheap.
