I installed a 2 gallon tank, all with proper tuning, dechlorination etc. Put a Betta in and he died 12 hours later. I found this odd as they are quite hardy so I brought them with a water sample. My water worked fine and I got another Betta, she died in less than 8 hours. I went back and read some of the reviews on this gravel and wish I had done it sooner. Others had this problem too. I threw away the gravel, cleaned the aquarium, bought the gravel WITHOUT color from the fish store, retested the water and everything was fine, and my fish is still alive, 12 hours old, happy and swimming. There's something about that gravel, even if it's completely washed out. Don't buy if you want your fish to live.
