Review on Duona Hand Feeding Syringe with Curved Gavage Tubes for Baby Birds and Parrots by Lisa Zimmerman

Emergencies Only

I bought these because I needed to treat a sick canary and couldn't find any vet quality feeders that were lost when moving house and any sign of respiratory problems in a small bird requires emergency help. I ordered these. Since then I have replaced them due to the following problems: 1. There are no instructions on how to use the device and what size is appropriate for the bird to be tormented with these poor quality devices.2. The gauge is only marked on one side of the syringe's square connector and is barely visible, making it very difficult to distinguish between the two smallest feeders, especially since the extremely bulbous feeder ends on both are the same size as the unsuitable large dispensers. for bird size indicated by sensors.3. There is no demarcation line here to tell you when to stop pushing, ie telling you that you've reached harvest and have nowhere else to go. Couldn't they add something to make a lousy scratch and downsize the 16 gauge feeder bulb on this plant? how cheap is it If you have not practiced with these devices before, the little bird is easily fatally injured.4. The handle at the end of even the smallest feeder is too big for the necks of small birds like canaries, making it difficult to use as it not only hurts the bird but also causes it to panic because the device will not allow the bird to breathe when it is used. My canary developed PTSD after the first use and was so traumatized by the experience - she would keep writhing and squealing in terror and turning her head in different directions to avoid choking on it again - that she willingly drank her medicine from a pear syringe. after.5. Feeders are made of cheap metal that is not smooth or even and has noticeable imperfections.6. The syringe that comes with the feeders is so big and bulky that it might only be suitable for rescued vultures, condors, baby ostriches, bison calves, giant piglets, etc. To feed or treat something smaller you will need your own 3-5ml syringes. I don't even recommend a 16 gauge feeder for birds smaller than an adult green kennel. And if you've invested enough in your birds to buy grain feeders, I recommend spending a few extra dollars on grain feeders that have basic but necessary features like demarcation lines and appropriately sized handles for the caliber and birds they are for supposedly developed. not to mention the legible caliber numbers, which can't be said about these feeders. but even they can deliver a painful bite under the circumstances.
