I recently required a short colostomy pending reoperation in the coming months. Sometimes the output just couldn't drain to the bottom of the bag. This material has definitely helped make emptying my bag a lot easier and cleaner. Originally the pouch was designed to filter the air out of the pouch and make pancakes around the stoma. The pouch's "vacuum" seemed to cause its insides to stick together, preventing things from draining easily. After squirting Adapt into the bag and spreading it out as best I could, the pancakes were much better. And if the vacuum inside the bag causes it to shrink, you can still rub the bag and feel the insides slide instead of sticking together. As for the deodorant part, I think that makes a difference. But we're not talking about roses now. There will still be odor nuisance when emptying the bag or in the event of a leak. A leak always requires the bag to be replaced.
