Review on 3M CF12 BLACK CARBON FIBER Exterior Accessories by Christopher Scales

After doing a little research and listening to suggestions, I purchased this material to use on some of the dashboard parts in my car. The car's dashboard was scratched by previous owners, indicating its age. In the end I was able to update the look of my dashboard and give it a unique touch. I chose the carbon fiber material because the original dashboard was a factory pattern and I didn't want a solid color. Application was a bit tricky, especially since most of the dashboard parts I've covered have complex curves, but with a lot of patience and a heat gun I was able to apply the material and it came out great! So far the material is holding up well. It's winter now and the temperatures have been quite cold with a couple of occasional days before the 70's and so far I haven't had any problems lifting material or any other issues. I'm curious how it will hold up when we have temperatures of over 90 degrees this summer. Honestly I don't expect any problems as this material is intended for use on automotive exteriors I assume everything is fine! The roll I received had a slight crease which I think was a shipping issue as the box looked like it had been creased in the same place. Although this might be an issue I decided to leave it as I was covering several separate parts. I thought I could bypass the crease. I ended up having to use the crumpled area, but I was able to get over that quite easily by applying a small amount of heat and stretching a little while applying that part of the material. All in all a great product that I will use again if the need arises!
