My roommate has a daschund who exhibits the unfortunate weiner dog trait of peeing when he's excited or threatened. It's called "submissive urination" but sometimes he'll pee just because you just look at him sideways. The worst thing is that you can't even yell at him when he pees on your bed because that'll just make him pee even more. Since I bought this two months ago, he hasn't pissed on my bed once. So, to be honest, I don't know how well it repels daschund urine or any other liquid but for whatever reason the dog doesn't come onto my bed anymore. I assume he doesn't like the mattress cover, but it doesn't make annoying crinkling noises or smell gross or anything, so I'm happy. 5/5
