Review on Enhance Vehicle Stability with Energy Suspension 9.5124R 20mm Stabilizer Bushing by Etai Gopala

[2002 Protege5] These + 20mm stabilizer bar + minor modifications = good choice

The Mazda Protege platform requires little to no modifications or replacement parts, so another product can always be used to repurpose or modify these vehicles can be , that's a plus. The OEM mounts are tiny and very flimsy, and the rubber bushings lack rigidity for dynamic riding. This set of brackets can handle much higher loads and the polyurethane bushings reduce vertical play/rotation. So if you don't mind getting your hands a little dirtier than usual and don't mind re-greasing the bushing every few months (there are no 20mm versions of these greasers!) then get these. Features make it Racing Beat's favorite modification of the 20mm rear stabilizer bar. However, they require two key changes to their form in order to work. First the brackets need to be bent to fit the shape of the subframe. This can be tricky, but using a vise, pliers, and OEM brackets for reference will minimize the hassle. Second, you'll need to thread a small amount of material into the inside of the bracket's screw holes. Otherwise, the screws may have difficulty slipping through the bracket holes when screwing into the subframe. Unfortunately this destroys the sacrificial anti-rust zinc coating so you can paint over the holes if you wish. wrong with them.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Not everything fits
