There are two issues with the mounting bracket that allow water to enter through the shower enclosure. First, as designed, the bracket does not mount flush with the wall tile. There is a 1/16 inch gap that allows water to drain from the threads of the mounting screws or plastic inserts. You'd better seal well between the bracket and the wall. Second, there is a 3/16-1/4 inch hole in the bracket that is not used (probably a process hole). This hole allows water to flow through the bracket. If you seal the bottom of the bracket, the water can't escape and will find the path of least resistance through the wall, destroying your shower system. I bought 3M 1500 Marine Sealant to seal the mounting bolts. This is the best waterproof sealant I've found. It cost me an extra $20 but no choice. I've spent too much money on a power shower for a poorly designed mount to destroy.
