Review on πŸ“· Canon PowerShot ELPH 360: Clear, Colorful Captures with 12x Zoom, Stabilization, Wi-Fi & NFC (Purple) by Gabriel Tomato

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Satisfactory image quality, slow autofocus, poor image stabilization, no Wi-Fi, low battery, screen difficult to see outdoors

I've had several Canon compact cameras. for many years and always impress with their reliability, user-friendliness and photo quality. I bought it for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska because of its Wi-Fi photo sharing capabilities and 12x telephoto lens. Unfortunately, the photos I took from my Alaskan trip were some of the worst quality I've taken in decades, and the wifi didn't work. Picture quality. Photos on this camera aren't sharp and crisp, and low-light photos are underwhelming. The quality of photos taken with my iPhone 7 is generally better than this Canon (although the iPhone 7 obviously doesn't have a telephoto lens). I have a Konica Minolta camera that is several years old and the image stabilization is solid unlike this Canon. User friendliness. I couldn't get this camera's WiFi to work with my Mac and WiFi. Accessing and using internal settings was slow and difficult. The screen is difficult to see directly outdoors and almost impossible to see from an angle outdoors. This visual difficulty has cost me a lot of good outdoor photos because I couldn't frame them properly. Reliability. I've missed a few wildlife photography opportunities because the camera tends to focus slowly or imprecisely. Image stabilization was not stable or good. Battery life was shorter than my previous Canon cameras, even when shooting without the flash. Bottom line: the 12x zoom is good for some wildlife and other long-distance shots, but it doesn't make up for the camera's other shortcomings, I'll be returning the camera.

  • New to my collection
Cons
