When people ask for an ultra wide angle lens recommendation, they often try to decide between the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 and the Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5. I tested the two lenses side by side and chose the Sigma 10-20mm for a number of reasons: 1. Extra range2. Best manual focus ring 3. Unusual "starbursts" when shooting against the sun4. Very durable construction. I've taken many great photos in the US and abroad with this lens. Unfortunately, earlier this year my kayak capsized in a Florida river and the stuff sack wasn't properly sealed. damaged and the lens was completely broken. :(Although I had the opportunity to buy Tokina 11-16mm on offer from Adorama for $150 cheaper, I chose Sigma again. Fireworks for July 4th :)
